Pierre Brière – Certified Expert in Arms, Militaria, Decorations & Historical Collectibles

I am a certified expert accredited by FNEPSA, specializing in the examination, identification and valuation of military antiques and historical memorabilia.Passionate about military history from an early age, inspired in particular by the stories of my grandfather, a prisoner of war who escaped in 1940 and was later interned for his involvement in the Resistance, I work closely with collectors, families holding inherited military items, and specialist dealers. My areas of expertise include insignia, medals, military headgear and edged weapons, with a primary focus on the period from the 19th century through to the end of the Second World War. My work combines the study and authentication of objects with in-depth research into their origins, history and provenance. Each appraisal follows a rigorous methodology based on historical analysis, careful examination of the object's characteristics, and cross-referencing of available sources. This approach enables me to provide a certificate of authenticity together with an assessment of the object's market value.Committed to professional, ethical and responsible standards, I believe that every object should be understood within its historical context. Beyond establishing authenticity and value, my work seeks to preserve the history carried by each piece, shed light on its journey through time, and recognize the human stories connected to it.
